What Christmas looks like at the Bedford Hotel Sidmouth

Wednesday 23 December

On arrival, enjoy a cup of tea or nutmeg coffee served with festive stollen before settling into your comfortable room.

Later our festivities begin in Pyne’s Bar with a choice of carefully selected wines and popcorn before enjoying a four-course dinner. Coffee will be served in the Wallis lounge at your leisure.

Thursday 24 December – Christmas Eve

Following a hearty breakfast, why not take a stroll along Sidmouth’s Esplanade and take in the stunning views of the Jurassic Coast, or perhaps browse Sidmouth’s many independent shops for those last-minute gifts.

A light lunch is available in the dining room followed by Mulled Wine and Mince Pies in the Wallis Lounge.

Tonight’s celebrations start with pre-dinner aperitifs and olives in Pyne’s Bar followed by a delicious four-course table d’hôte dinner by candlelight. Later, you may wish to attend Midnight Mass at Sidmouth Parish Church.

Friday 25 December – Christmas Day

Wake up to a leisurely breakfast in the morning. Perhaps work up an appetite with a walk-up Peak Hill! A traditional five-course Christmas Lunch with all the trimmings will be served in our Regency dining room.

Relax in the afternoon with board games, cards, or the Queen’s Speech. We hope you will have saved room for a cold supper buffet. After, a selection of local cheese and Port will be served in Pyne’s Bar.

Saturday 26 December – Boxing Day

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast with the morning papers. The famous Boxing Day Swim takes place at Port Royal where locals brave the winter waters to raise money for charity. Wrap up warm!

Soup and sandwiches will be available in the dining room at lunchtime. If you’re a rugby fan make your way to Sidmouth Rugby Club in the afternoon and watch the annual Boxing Day game (Presidents vs Chiefs).

Tonight join us at Gin o’clock and enjoy a selection of refreshing Gin and Tonics in Pyne’s Bar before a four-course table d’hôte dinner.
