In lieu of chocolate on the pillow, dogs are entitled to a complimentary dog treat on arrival at The Bedford. Reception is well-prepared, so be sure to raid the stocks when your dog is tired after a long day out running on the salty beaches of Sidmouth. In fact, there are plenty of other dog-friendly places to go and activities to do in our beautiful town and the surrounding area.
There are plenty of places in Sidmouth that are perfect for dogs, including walks like Salcombe Hill and The Byes Riverside Park, as well as visiting our second-favourite four-legged friends at the famous Donkey Sanctuary right here in Sidmouth. Dogs are allowed around the grounds and even in the restaurant.

Our dog-friendly dining room means your pooch can sit with you as you dine, enjoying the sights and smells (and sometimes, if you’re generous, the tastes) of Sidmouth alongside you.
